First, we must understand that CHANGE is CONSTANT, it will always be there no matter what happens. The reason we get our ass*s kicked so much by it because we settle, we take root, we get comfortable... then, BAM! A ten wheeler runs us off the road with full force and all momentum. The reason? We do not anticipate, we do not challenge reality, we become complacent, we get comfortable where we are. We ask why we did not see it sooner? Because we did not look at the facts, we disregarded the trends. Everything you need to predict the change is there, all you have to do is sniff out where change is going to happen. This is different from starting the change; merely, preempting it. The evidence is there-- just study where it leads.
Change is also needed in this ever fluid society were everything is in constant motion. We must accept the fact that we either change, or get left behind like a relic meant for the museums.
WHAT
Second; yeah so what, change is in the air. WHAT are you going to do? Run away from it all hoping that soon enough the Change will just pass you by? Guess again, hotshot! Change is here, and change is here to stay. You can not just stand along the sides and watch it eat you whole! Once it does, how would you know where to pick yourself up after? It is always better running with change, than having it sweep you off the ground unsuspectingly. It can be likened to being in the eye of the storm, where chaos abound, but peace surrounds you. That is what you call assurance; not that you know where you are going, but the assurance that you are going somewhere on your own two FEET (not rolling around on the ground like a tumbleweed).
Never let yourself be victims of circumstance, you have a choice.
HOW
Third, we all know that it is going to happen. TAKE IT AS IT IS. Accept the change. Embrace it with all your might. Accept the things that you can change and accept the things that you cannot control. Once that we have accepted that Change is happening, it will help us easily move along with it. First thing we need to know to swim with the tide, is to look at the tide's direction. Chose you battles wisely, you cannot fight all of them. You may win one battle, but ultimately, it might cause you the war.
WHEN
Fourth, timing is all that counts. The idiom "strike while the iron is hot" is all about doing the right thing at the right time. Some would agree; yes, they will accept change, but not just yet. That is what you call SELF-INFLICTED torture. You are just prolonging the inevitable and the suffering that goes along with it. Either, let it linger or pull it like a band-aid. You might let out one loud and long agonizing scream because of the pain, but hey, at least it is one thing off your To Do List. Once we get it out of the way, we can better focus on other things that need our attention.
