Expectations

"To expect life to be tailored to our specifications is to invite frustration."
~ Anonymous

There is a thin line that separates our hopes from our expectations. We must understand that whenever we expect, we set ourselves up to be disappointed and to be hurt. Remember, this frustration is rooted not in the expectations that we have, but in the ACT of EXPECTING.

Continuing in this line of thinking would only bring us deeper into the VICTIM MENTALITY, while asking the whole world, "when will it be my turn". We become bitter, cynical, critical, and we bring the bar higher for those around us. We forget the fact that these people are oblivious to the ruler that they are being measured with. Thus, creating more failed expectations. It is a vicious cycle where we will always find ourselves both as the instigator and the victim.

Now, tell me. What do you think is the key to living a happy and fulfilled life?
